My name is Ashley Bloomfield, also known as Blooming Raw. I am a health and wellness enthusiast, raw vegan foodie, mental health advocate and traveler with a passion of helping others achieve healing through raw veganism.

My health story

My journey began in 2017 after watching a health documentary called What the Health that would change my life forever. After watching, I was left completely shocked and disgusted. It quickly became clear to me that I didn’t want to contribute to animal cruelty any longer, and I knew from that moment on that I needed to make a significant lifestyle change. I started as a vegetarian and gradually eliminated animal products, ultimately committing to a vegan lifestyle in 2018 for both the animals and my health. The documentary helped me realize how much our food choices affect every aspect of our health and wellbeing and the importance of what we put into our bodies.

Raw foods completely changed my life.

I am an ethical vegan. I choose to be vegan for my health, for the animals and for the betterment of our planet. I transitioned to a raw vegan lifestyle on September 12, 2020 after spending the majority of my life suffering from debilitating health issues. At age 15, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes that later progressed to hyperglycemia and chronic hypertension. I spent most of my life in pain from horrible migraines, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, irregular menstruation, insomnia, acne & severe depression and anxiety. After going raw vegan, within the first year, I reversed most of my major health problems. 4 years later on this lifestyle, I feel the best I've ever felt in my life on a physical, mental and spiritual level. For the first time in my life, I feel alive because of the healing power of raw living foods.

 

 

 

Food is medicine.

Incorporating raw fruits, vegetables, nut and seeds into my diet has completely transformed not just my health, but my entire life. I’ve seen substantial improvements in my energy levels, digestion, and overall mood since adopting this lifestyle. Throughout this journey, I've come to understand that food is the best form of medicine and the conscious choices we make about food can lead to positive changes, not just for our personal wellbeing but for the planet as a whole.

This heightened awareness of the environmental effects of our food choices has driven me to advocate for sustainability and animal rights, as I seek to educate others about the advantages of living a mindful and compassionate life. 

My raw vegan journey has been incredibly empowering. Raw veganism is so much more than a diet; it embodies a holistic transformation of the mind, body, and spirit. My journey has highlighted the importance of mindfulness in every aspect of my life, motivating me to approach my health, ethics, and environmental responsibilities with intention, passion, compassion, and care.

from pain to passion.

Before going on my health journey, my life felt empty. My health was failing, the physical and emotional pain I felt on a daily basis was unbearable and my zest for my life was gone. After discovering veganism and raw food, that's when everything changed. I created my YouTube channel at the start of my raw vegan journey with the hope to inspire others with my story. It quickly became my passion to spread this powerful health message. It is my passion in life to assist others in reclaiming their health and becoming the best version of themselves. During my transformative journey of deep healing, self-love and self-discovery, I discovered my purpose and have since devoted my life to empower others on how to fully embrace and successfully thrive on a raw vegan lifestyle. I absolutely love creating Youtube videos, recipe eBooks and programs to help add value to your life. It truly brings my heart the greatest joy.

  • I have a bachelors degree in business management from Georgia State University

  • I am a proud Jamaican American

  • I sing and play the guitar and uke

  • I auditioned for The Voice and almost made it to the blind auditions

  • I've never had alcohol
